The NFC Checkpoint feature lets you monitor and verify security officers' movement throughout a shift by scanning NFC checkpoints on site. It delivers real-time reporting which can be accessed through the Reports tab by Admin and Manager level users.
How to Set Up the NFC Checkpoint Feature
To enable NFC Checkpoints in your Guardhouse account, go to Organization > Company > Checkpoint Scanning and turn on “Enable NFC Scanning”.
NFC Checkpoints have been designed to be set up through the mobile app while on site. The process allows you to add new checkpoints as you walk around onboarding a new site or alternatively, onboard existing tags you have from a previous system into Guardhouse while performing a patrol as normal.
Only Admin and Manager level users will have access to set this feature up. First, select the “My Profile” section of the app on the main page, then, select the "NFC Tag Setup" option at the bottom of the list.
From here you will need to select which Customer and Site you are setting up NFC Tags at.
Once you have selected the site you will land on the Locations/Checkpoints page. This will display any existing locations or QR & NFC checkpoints you have added in the past. To add a new NFC checkpoint, click the "Add" button on the top right corner of the page.
Add the name of the checkpoint, then click the "Scan Tag ID" button. Scan your NFC Tag to load the checkpoint ID into Guardhouse. You will see a Success Status display once you scan your checkpoint correctly.
When you scan the Tag ID, Guardhouse captures the geo-coordinates of where the tag is. If you add a Distance Threshold (in meters), Guardhouse will report on any variance from user checkpoint scans to the geo point when it was set up. This allows you to monitor scans and ensure tags aren't being moved from their original position.
Once this has all been added, click "Add Checkpoint". You'll need to scan the checkpoint again to complete the setup. This second scan allows Guardhouse to write the coded information onto the NFC tag to make it work for Guards. Once complete you'll get a success status once again.
Once you have completed this process, You'll see all added checkpoints added to your account within the Organization > Sites > Location / Checkpoints section of your web access.
Reporting
Admins and managers can access two reports to view scans. They are both accessed in the Reports tab under the subheading "Checkpoint Reports".
The Checkpoint Report Excel will export in excel format with Customer and Site information, checkpoints scanned, who scanned them, when and verifies the GPS data against the coordinates set in the checkpoint setup. This gives you visibility to staff being at the checkpoints or not when they scan them.
The Checkpoint Report PDF exports the exact same information but in a format more suitable for presenting to clients.
