Are you worried your managers or administrators might have too much access to information on your Guardhouse account, and you want to keep a better handle on the permissions they have? The Super Admin feature might just be what you need.

The Super Admin holds the highest position in terms of the Guardhouse access hierarchy. You can have only one or a select number of people be Super Admins and have the authority to give permissions/access to managers and regular admins in terms of the following:

How do I set myself or someone else as a Super Admin?

You can request this from Guardhouse and we can set you up as Super Admin on the backend. Reach out to our Support Team or your Success Manager if you would like to have this feature activated for your account.

What's the difference between a Super Admin and a regular Admin?

Ideally, this would be the access coverage of a Super Admin, a regular Admin, and a Manager:

Super Admin

Regular Admin

Manager

  • Has full access to GH features
  • Cannot change their own access privileges in GH but can change the access privileges of another super admin
  • Can add and assign access to payroll and invoicing to regular admins, managers, and staff.
  • Can change (add/limit) access of Super Admins, regular Admins, Managers, and Staff
  • Can staff and assign them as an administrator, manager, or employee
  • Can add staff and assign them as managers. When adding a staff, the following will be grayed out and only a Super Admin can give access to them:
    • Can work as payroll manager
    • Can work as invoice manager
    • Can view wages
    • Can view charges
  • Can change (add/limit) access of managers and employees
  • Cannot change their own access level. Only a super admin can do this.
  • Can add customers and sites and update settings
  • Has access to the Schedule page, Reports, and Incidents
  • Access to the Company Settings will depend on given access by the Super Admin
  • Can add staff and give them access
  • Can only change access of those on the staff level
  • Cannot add customers
  • Can add sites to existing customers assigned  to him/her but cannot deactivate sites
  • Has access to the Schedule page, Reports, and Incidents
  • Access to other settings will depend on given access by the Super Admin/Regular Admin

When you are assigned as a Super Admin, have a look at your Managers and Admins' profiles and assign the appropriate access to them. If you need a list of your managers and administrators, feel free to reach out to our Support Team or your Success Manager.

We appreciate any feedback you may have to further improve this feature.
