There are various reasons that companies opt to unlink with their subcontractors in Guardhouse (end of the contract, feature not working out as desired, etc). Here are the common questions about unlinking and how it can impact a company.
How can we unlink our GH account from a subcontractor and vice versa?
Just like how the linking was done on the backend, the unlinking of GH accounts will follow the same process. If you're 100% sure about unlinking your company with your subcontractor (or vice versa), contact GH support or your Success Manager and request the unlinking. Just make sure that the other party is also aware of the unlinking request. On our end, we'll give the other party a call to inform them of the step to be taken. Once the unlinking has been done by GH, we will inform both parties.
What happens to the shared staff?
Once the unlinking is done, the "Linked" icon beside the staff member's name will disappear and they will still be shown in the Active Staff List. The shared staff are not automatically deactivated when companies are unlinked in consideration of cases where staff members work for both companies independently. In case a staff is no longer needed when the unlinking is done, you can deactivate the staff as normal.
What happens to the shared contact and HR details of our staff?
This will depend on the setup done when the staff members were shared by the subcontractor (Organization > Customers > Linked Customer > Shared Staff).
- If the Share HR Details and Share Contact Details are enabled, these data will remain on the staff member's profile even after the companies have been unlinked.
- If the Share HR Details and Share Contact Details are disabled, these data will not show on the staff member's profile after the companies have been unlinked.
Can we link with the subcontractor again after some time?
Yes as long as both companies have GH accounts. Reach out to GH support or your Success Manager and request the linking.
